DOC operates a network of visitor centres located nationwide, most of them in our national parks. They are staffed by DOC rangers who have first-hand, in-depth local knowledge about conservation places and activities. Together isite and DOC work hand-in-hand to provide visitors with the very best advice and assistance.
We've been around since 1990, established by what's known today as Tourism New Zealand. The isite brand is proudly managed by Tourism New Zealand, the government entity responsible for attracting high-value visitors to New Zealand. Each year, our network of over 50 isite Visitor Information Centres welcome about 7.6 million visitors.
Each isite is individually locally-owned and operated, giving each one a unique local flavour, tailor-made for their region.
